Imprint Files vs Sky Pilot
Sky Pilot has been on the Shopify App Store since 2013 and does a lot besides file delivery: video streaming, license keys and scheduled releases. Imprint Files is built around PDFs. Every plan stamps the buyer’s details, and Premium traces a leaked copy back to its order.

Choose Sky Pilot if:
- You sell video and want customers to stream it on a branded page instead of downloading large files.
- You sell software and need license keys delivered with the order.
- You want scheduled file releases for pre-orders, or Klaviyo, Mailchimp and subscription app integrations.
- You want customers to log in before they download, or an alert when an order is opened from too many IP addresses.
Choose Imprint Files if:
- You sell PDFs and want them stamped on the Free plan, or with your own stamp text for $8.99 a month.
- You want the stamp to carry a company name, fields from checkout or a unique copy code.
- You want a log of every download, with its time, country and device.
- You want to find out whose copy leaked and draft a takedown notice.

The main differences
What Sky Pilot does that Imprint Files doesn’t
Sky Pilot streams video on a branded page, from its own storage or from Vimeo, Wistia and Sprout, and its support team can turn on video stamping. It delivers license keys, schedules file releases for pre-orders, connects to Klaviyo, Mailchimp and subscription apps, and can make customers log in before they download. Imprint Files delivers video, audio and software as download links, and license key generation isn’t available yet. If those features matter most, Sky Pilot is the better fit today.
PDF stamping: what goes on the page, and which plan you need
Both apps stamp the buyer’s details onto your PDFs automatically. Sky Pilot includes stamping on Growth ($54.99 a month) or charges $9 a month extra on other plans. Its stamp can show the order number and date, the customer’s name and email, and your shop name and domain, on every page.
Imprint Files stamps on every plan, starting with the buyer’s email on Free. From Basic up, the stamp can also carry the company name, order ID, up to 5 custom fields from checkout or a product form, and a unique copy code. You can stamp every page or just the first. Tracing a leaked copy
Sky Pilot can alert you when an order is opened from too many IP addresses, so you can revoke its access. Its listing, pricing page and help center don’t describe tracing a file found online back to its order.
On Imprint Files Basic, every download gets a copy code, logged with its time, country and device. Premium hides that code inside every page with tracing marks and an optional QR code. Sky Pilot’s App Store listing offers a 14-day trial on paid plans, while its website advertises 7 days. Confirm the trial at signup. Its PDF stamping page lists a $9/month add-on on plans below Growth, including Free.
For stamped PDFs, Imprint Files costs less: stamping is free on Free, and custom stamp text with copy tracking is $8.99 a month. Sky Pilot lists stamping as a $9 monthly add-on to Free, Starter and Lite. That makes it $9 with Free or $18 with Starter; Growth includes it at $54.99. Sky Pilot plans also include a monthly bandwidth allowance and charge per GB above it, while Imprint Files plans are set by storage, product count and file size.

Yes. It’s included on Growth and above, or $9 a month extra on other plans. The stamp can show the order number and date, the customer’s name and email, and your shop name and domain.
Which is cheaper for stamping PDFs?
Imprint Files, based on prices checked in October 2026. Its Free plan stamps the buyer’s email, and Basic adds your own stamp text and copy codes for $8.99 a month. Sky Pilot’s stamping add-on costs $9 a month with its Free plan, or $18 in total with Starter. Storage and bandwidth limits also differ.
Can Imprint Files stream video or sell license keys?
Not today. Videos and other non-PDF files are delivered as secure, expiring download links, and license key generation is on our roadmap.
Can Sky Pilot trace a leaked PDF to an order?
We didn’t find leak tracing on its App Store listing, pricing page or help center in October 2026. It can alert you when an order is opened from too many IP addresses, so you can revoke access.
